Overview
UAV Vision's latest and most popular option for light weight, stabilised cameras is the gyro stabilised, multi-sensor CM160. The standard configuration is a combined EO/IR sensor array, however the user is able to customise the internal sensors to their particular application. Examples of sensors include colour cameras (EO), infrared (IR), Laser Range Finders (LRF) & Point Laser designators.
The CM160 is IP66 rated, meaning it is dust and water proof. Further, it can be mounted in a number of different orientations and it is suitable for operations for airborne platforms, land vehicles and sea vessels. The CM160 has been certified on a number of full sized aircraft and is an industrial grade camera gimbal made from only quality components.
The CM160 boasts a massive field of view. In the tilt axis the CM160 has a large 250 degree viewing angle and pan is continuous 360 degrees. This large viewing angle allows continuous tracking and surveillance of all objects in the viewing hemisphere. Split rings are used on the pan and tilt axis, so the camera gimbal never has to worry about wind up on any axis, and can continue to rotate on each axis indefinitely. For the airborne application, due to the large field of view, the CM160 is able to continue to track objects even when the aircraft is at large bank angles where other camera gimbals loose their targets.
The CM160 is your best choice for a high quality multi-sensor stabilised camera gimbal at an affordable price.
Benefits
Benefits of the CM160 include:
- No ITAR / Export restrictions
- A single gimbal solution for day and night operations
- The weatherproof (dust and water tight) design ensures the CM160 is suitable for many applications - air, land, sea
- Can be mounted in any orientation
- Proven safe and robust technology, being certified for a number of manned aircraft
- Can be tightly integrated with you current system or is completely plug and play with UAV Vision's range of communication and other modules to form complete end-to-end solutions
- Ideal for any platform - small to large:
- Lightweight
- Low power consumption
- Small form factor
- No calibration required
- Users can customise the exact sensor payloads for their mission
Specifications
The two axis gimbal, is a gyro stabilized system that is protected against wind loads, humidity and dust by a robust carbon fibre housing and 2 lenses covering the camera lenses, The IR lens is a Germanium Glass lens which has a Diamond Like Coating enabling you to clean the whole system thoroughly even with thinners, the daylight lens is a scratch resistant and anti reflective lens for best optical results.
UAV Vision's CM160 system is a two axis gyro stabilised camera gimbal which is controlled via a 16 bit Micro-controller and has motor control electronics running at 250Khz which gives it extremely high reaction speeds, the system is also temperature stable as the electronics/software compensate for the fluctuations giving a very low drift rate.
The CM160 has a total weight of only 1.7 kg including the EO and IR payload sensors. This, coupled with the small form factor and low power consumption, make the system a great option for platforms ranging from small all the way up to large full sized platforms.
