UAV Vision today released the second major version release of the popular CM160 multi-sensor stabilised camera. The latest version builds upon the excellent quality of the initial release of this camera gimbal. The latest version has improvements in the gyro stabilisation technology, internal electronics and hardware.

The latest version is IP66 rated, and considerable environmental testing has been done on this gimbal including water submersion and spray tests as well as g-loading tests. The CM160 is the best value for money camera on the market.

Features include:

  • a colour camera (EO sensor) with 26x optical zoom; high definition camera option 1080i, 10x optical zoom
  • infrared camera (the exact model can be varied), but our standard one is 640x480
  • Ideal for day and night flying
  • Full gyro stabilisation on both pan and tilt axis (mechanical) (also internal camera image stabilisation as well as a final software stabilisation as described below)
  • Communication interface is serial / rs232
  • Lightweight - less than 1.7 kg!

  • no ITAR/export restriction -- because we use automotive grade components, which ensure reliability but are not restricted for export
