Overview
Time-critical field operations dependant on light aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and other platforms require heightened situational awareness. Aerial Information (AI) System is UAV Vision’s real-time solution to this need, combining hardware and software in a powerful, low-cost stand-alone package.
The AI System software utilises UAV Vision’s camera gimbals to provide operators with increased situational awareness for a wide variety of applications. It provides users with a user friendly and intuitive application to view both EO and IR video feeds, geographical data and other information whilst connected directly to the system onboard the aircraft, or remotely as a ground station.
Additionally, with the UAV Vision Cloud Technology, an unlimited number of users can use AI System and log into a flight mission and view all video streams and the onboard operator’s actions live.
Benefits
The benefits of the UAV Vision AI System include:
- Full control of the camera gimbal payload and the internal EO and IR sensors
- Full situational awareness of camera pointing, platform location, and objects of interest around the platform
- Dual video streams live to the operator
- Integrates with UAV Vision's Cloud Technology to provide an unlimited number of users access to the operations live footage and operator controls (map markings, etc)
- Map based time markings by the operator, to allow missions to be started from different times and locations during mission replay at a later time
- Full correlation of still image grabs onto Google Earth maps, for combing live imagery with existing maps
- Live EO and IR video recording
- Full geo-referencing capability with UAV Vision's GEOLock module
Specifications
Key features and specifications include:
- Dynamic map shifting, terrain height data, aircraft history/trail, and Point of Interest (POI) map overlays
- Complete camera control (gimbal pan, tilt and zoom) integrated within the GUI accessible via the touchscreen or joystick
- Control sensor attributes such as: stow position, gyro stabilisation, EO lens stabilisation, iris control, shutter speed, camera gain, focal lengths and customisable IR palette
- With the UAV Vision Cloud Technology, users have the ability to connect to multiple flights during an incident, either locally or remotely as a ground station.
- Receive live data and video feeds being broadcasted over an encrypted network.
- Ability to log into an incident, add data and log out
- Multiple video feeds - EO & IR in the case of the CM160
- View data live locally from reconnaissance flights and remotely from multiple ground stations.
- View daylight, and secondary sensor imagery such as thermal imaging.
- Customise the layout of sensor feeds
- Dynamic Map Overlays - draw lines, auto-calculate distances on map, draw polygonal areas and autocalculate area coverage
- Geo-referencing of targets (requires UAV Vision GeoLock Module)
- Live camera Field Of View (FOV), camera target location and platform position overlays
- Single-click recording of camera and aircraft which are geo-referenced with GPS location, time-stamped, and contains correlating video snapshots of POI.
- Observations can be transmitted locally to other machines, via email, FTP
- Record video as .avi files, aircraft and camera attitude and geo-location, POI data and dynamic overlay
- data as geospatial vector oriented Shape files
Applications
Typical applications for the AI System include:
- fire fighting / fire spotting
- law enforcement
- traffic monitoring
- whale/shark spotting
- environmental monitoring
- map building
- site evaluations
- utility/pipeline monitoring
